Sadie Robertson Laughs At Engagement Rumors, Talks Modeling After Fashion Week Appearance

Sadie Robertson hit the runway during New York Fashion Week on Thursday. The Duck Dynasty star modeled prom dresses for Sherri Hill, according to the Spread It.

The 17-year-old shared the experience with her followers on social media, and she was clearly excited about the chance to model two dresses for the fashion line. This was not her modeling debut. Sadie walked the runway during fashion week back in September, 2013.

Before this week’s event, Sadie shared a photo of herself backstage in a robe. She captioned the photo with, “So extremely blessed to be a Sherri Hill model & get to walk in New York Fashion Week. Praising God for all the many opportunities. ALL glory to God. Walking for him.”

After the event, she shared two sets of photos of her on the runway on Twitter.

She wore two dresses during the event, according to Us Magazine.

“Robertson, 17, who made it all the way to the finals on the most recent season of Dancing With the Stars, first modeled a cocktail dress with blue beading on a nude bodice and an aquamarine skirt. The Duck Dynasty star, who’s also a spokeswoman for the dress brand, then slipped into an ocean-blue ball gown with a scoop neckline and an embellished waistline.”

After the event, Sadie Robertson spoke about a potential career in modeling in an interview with People Magazine via Hollywood Life. She would not be the first reality star to take on a career in modeling. Kendall and Kylie Jenner both model. Sadie is not against a modeling career.

“I would love to continue to model it just depends on what opportunities I get. Of course, I want to always stay true to who I am and make sure in everything I do, God is getting the glory. If modeling is one of those things that keeps presenting itself to me I would love to do it and continue to get more involved.”

However, Sadie had to tackle another issue during interviews for the event. Rumors have popped up that Sadie is engaged. Reports surfaced online that Sadie accepted the proposal of her boyfriend of the past year, Blake Coward. He plays football for the Mustangs at the Madison Academy high school in Alabama.

Sadie was quick to deny the rumors when she was asked about them during one interview.

“Oh my word! Ok, so everyone thinks I’m engaged. I’m not engaged. Me and my boyfriend have been dating for like a year and two months now so we’re definitely in love I guess you could say, but we’re not engaged.”

Sadie did share about her previous modeling experience at New York Fashion Week in her book, Live Original, which was released in October 2014. She did not have the best experience at the event, but it also taught her a lesson about self esteem and confidence, according to New York Daily News.

“Many of them did not say a single word back to me. They just looked at me like they had icicles in their eyes. (They) were from places like Russia and other European countries. They were pretty obsessed with their weight, so instead of having snacks or treats, they smoked cigarettes and drank coffee. They were quiet, and they seemed either sad or kind of angry. They cared way too much about their outward appearance. Confidence is an inside thing. If people try to become confident by trying to make themselves look better or feel better, they will never get there.”

Sadie’s appearance at New York Fashion Week did generate some buzz on social media. People praised her on Twitter for her turn on the runway.

Right now, Sadie is focused on her brother’s wedding. The event will take place in June, and she will be a bridesmaid. She revealed to Fox News that her bridesmaid dress was just picked out.
