WWE News: The Miz Appears Drunk, Proclaims Self Better Actor Than The Rock

WWE superstar The Miz was recently out in Hollywood with his wife, former WWE Diva Maryse, when reporters caught up with him to ask about his future in Hollywood. Miz has often said he would like to expand his role as an actor in the future. While answering the reporter’s question, Miz appeared quite confident in his acting abilities.

“There is no WWE superstar who’s ever been a better actor than me.”

Miz has appeared in a few movies though all were produced by WWE Films. His acting past includes roles in The Marine 3: Homefront and The Marine 4: Moving Target. Miz also did voice-over work for Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery.

When asked directly about if he thinks he is a better actor than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, perhaps the most successful wrestler-turned-actor in WWE history, Miz was not the least bit modest.

“No doubt in my mind. The Rock has done wonders with generating fans that say, you know what, we can actually do what we do and better than everybody. He’s the number one. But am I a better actor than The Rock? I believe I am.”

The comparisons to The Rock at this point in Miz’s career are far-fetched, given the fact that The Rock is one of the highest-grossing action stars in Hollywood. The Miz is still a rookie on the big screen, while the Rock has been appearing on movie sets for close to 15 years, going back to his first role in Hollywood as part of the cast in The Mummy Returns.

Film executives originally took notice of The Rock while observing his acting ability during his first hosting role on Saturday Night Live in March 2000. If The Miz wants to get the Hollywood big-wigs to notice him, perhaps he should start beating down Lorne Michaels’ door.

Miz also told the reporter that he wants to win an Oscar at some point in his career, and he sees himself as a leading man rather than a supporting actor.

Several other wrestlers in the past have crossed over into Hollywood, including such names as Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Steve Austin, and Jesse Ventura, to name a few. Miz’s experience in Hollywood remains low, and his experiences are relegated to vehicles created for him by WWE Films. However, Miz does have additional experience in the past appearing in front of cameras while a cast member on MTV’s The Real World.

As of right now, The Miz is not scheduled to wrestle at this Sunday’s WWE Fastlane event in Memphis. He remains a high-profile star on the main roster, though, and is coming off a big match on this past week’s WWE SmackDown against Daniel Bryan.
