Movie fans can watch the 2015 Academy Awards live streaming online Sunday night, with coverage of the Oscars beginning hours before the show starts. Both ABC and E! will offer viewers the opportunity to watch celebrities as they arrive on the red carpet, exclusive backstage interviews with nominees, and the entire three-hour awards show online or on select mobile devices using free Oscars mobile apps.
Find a full list of 2015 Academy Awards nominees here. Don’t forget to download the free Oscars ballot so you can predict the winners with your friends on Sunday night.
The 87th Academy Awards starts at 8:30 p.m. ET, but red carpet coverage begins online hours before the show. If you enjoy watching (or critiquing) celebrity fashions, E! Online will start live streaming at 5:25 p.m. via the free red carpet app for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices. Watch red carpet interviews with the nominees, see celeb photos, and find out who is predicted to win big on Sunday night. Text RED CARPET to 44264 to download the app right to your mobile device.
In addition to the E! Online app, the WATCH ABC app is a must-have for anyone who wants to watch the 2015 Oscars live online or on their tablet or smartphone. The free app offers viewers a chance to see nominees interviewed both on the red carpet and backstage, as well as live coverage of the entire awards show on Sunday night.

Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to watch the three-hour awards show live online. ABC News reports that only viewers in select areas within the United States will have access to the live stream during the show. Although the red carpet and backstage coverage will be shown to everyone, the show itself will require viewers to verify that they have a TV provider account, such as Verizon FiOs, Comcast, COX, and ATT U-Verse.
“Live digital stream of awards show broadcast requires participating TV provider account and available only in select markets. Live video available in Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham and San Francisco.”
Viewers who are able to live stream the 2015 Academy Awards via the WATCH ABC app will also be able to watch Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars via the digital stream. Kimmel’s show will air shortly after the Oscars end.
