Jay Z Love Child: Aspiring Rapper Rymir Satterthwaite Wants To Follow In Alleged Father’s Footsteps

Jay Z is accused of fathering a love child in the early 1990s, with the rapper getting hit with a paternity suit from a 21-year-old man who happens to be an aspiring rapper himself.

Rymir Satterthwaite filed court papers claiming he could be the son of the rapper, the result of a relationship between Jay Z and a teenager from Philadelphia.

Satterthwaite has been open about his claim, saying in a YouTube video that his own rapping abilities are hereditary and wanting to follow in his (alleged) father’s footsteps.

“It was in my blood,” the Philadelphia native said. “I really wanted to pursue my dreams. That’s what I’ve been doing, pursuing my dreams.”

It is unclear how strong of a case Rymir Satterthwaite would have that his is the love child of Jay Z. The young man’s mother originally listed a different man as his father, but when a 2011 DNA test revealed that Rymir was not the man’s son, his mother then accused Jay Z.

Jay Z has fought the case in the past, successfully arguing against a DNA test in 2010 by claiming that there was no “extraordinary cause” involved. The rapper is once again trying to block a DNA test.

But though Rymir Satterthwaite is open about the claim that he is the love child of Jay Z, family members say they are not seeking out fame.

“All this attention caught us off guard,” said Lillie Coley, Rymir’s godmother. “We didn’t expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren’t expecting this.”

The paternity claim comes after a long period of reported trouble for Jay Z and wife Beyoncé. The couple endured weeks of divorce rumors over the summer, starting with a scuffle between the rapper and Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles in an elevator after the Met Gala.

Reports claimed that Solange was made at Jay Z for his overly friendly relationship with designer Rachel Roy. From there, a series of other rumors came out, indicating that both Jay Z and Beyoncé were having affairs and that they were headed for divorce.

But the couple trudged on, completing their joint On The Run tour and then afterward renewing their wedding vows.
