Robert Redford is Only 99% a Hypocrite

Oh Robert Redford you confused soul. It is time for the Occupy Wall Street crwod to pack it in and go home now that they have officially been completely exploited by corporate America. Today Robert Redford, while opening the Sundance Film Festival, declared the event was for the 99% and the 1% is not welcome.

Redford said in his press conference,

“How Sundance exists for the forgotten 99 percent. We show stories of what people in America are really dealing with, and really living with, against a consequence of having a government that’s let them down. People can come and say, ‘God, at least we’re seeing how people are really living in America, and what they’re up against.’ We square away on the 99 percent.”

There is one huge problem with what Redford was saying…Sundance Film Festival is an event of the 1%, for the 1% and by the 1%.

Every booth at the Sundance Film Festival is sponsored by a multi-million dollar corporation. Why are they there? To give away luxury items to super rich celebrities in hopes that the Paparazzi will snap a picture of one the celebrites using their tablet computer, their fragrance or wearing their clothes.

Multi-millionaires gathering as a group to be given millions of dollars worth of free merchandise by multi-million dollar corporations. Definitely an event that Occupy Wall Street would stand up for.

But the movies are for Independent Film Makers right? Well technically yes, but why are they at Sundance? SO they can hopefully get one of the mega celebrities interested in their project.
