Man Punches Himself In Face 40+ Times: Claims Police Brutality [Video]

Aleksander Robin Tomaszewski, 33, from California, did something a person should never do — lie to the police. But, not only did he lie to the police, he went a step further and accused police officers of beating his face to a pulp while he was being detained, according to Oregon Live.

Much to Tomaszewski’s dismay, a video camera captured his beating. Only it wasn’t the cops who beat him up. He did it to himself.

According to the sheriff’s office report, it all started on January 9 when Tomaszweski was brought in for questioning in Oregon regarding a suspicion of sexual abuse, as reported by the National Post.

Sgt. Carrie Carver, a Lane County Seriff’s Office spokeswoman stated that a camera captured Tomaszewski’s questioning. There was also a second camera that recorded his actions in the holding cell where he was placed after the questioning.

HLNTV reports that Tomaszewski proceeded to punch himself in the face more than 40 times, inflicting two black eyes and multiple facial injuries. Tomaszewski told deputies that the detectives who interviewed him had beaten him and he wanted to press charges against them.

Police say Tomaszewski even signed a portion of the incident report which warned him about initiating a false report. However, that didn’t stop him from blaming police for his brutality.

“When he learned that the incident was caught on camera, he admitted that he thought making the claim would get him released,” deputies said in the news release to HLNTV.

The video footage clearly reveals Tomaszewski punching himself in the face.

Not only did Tomaszewski suffer from multiple, painful injuries to his face, he had to endure the humiliation of facing the fact that his self-inflicted wounds were captured on video.

To make matters worse, Tomaszewski was charged on February 10 with charged with attempted coercion and initiating a false report. The very next day he was found guilty of both charges, sentenced to 20 days in jail, $600 in fines, and 36 months of probation for attempted coercion. Tomaszewski also received a bonus of an additional 20 days in jail for initiating a false report.

In addition, to add insult to injury, the sexual abuse charges against Tomaszewski were dismissed, making all the aforementioned beating completely unnecessary.
