Kenny G Divorce: Saxophonist’s Wife, Balynda Benson-Gorelick, Files Separation Papers

is heading to an end, and this time, it comes from iconic jazz musician Kenny G.

According to People magazine, the musician’s wife of almost 20 years, Balynda “Lyndie” Benson-Gorelick, filed for legal separation in Los Angeles Superior Court on January 9.

The magazine added that the reason for the split was irreconcilable differences and although Lyndie hasn’t officially filed for divorce, the former couple have both hired high profile divorce lawyers in L.A.

Access Hollywood reports that Lyndie has enlisted the advice of Gary Fishbein, who has repped Nikki Sixx and Gabriel Aubry, while Kenny hired high-powered divorce attorney Laura Wasser, whose clients include Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie.

Kenny and Balynda have two sons together, Max and Noah. The former is now a legal adult, while the latter is a 14-year-old minor.

Kenny G, whose real name is Kenneth Gorelick, started his music career in 1982 and has sold over 75 million albums worldwide with his infectious instrumental tunes.

The 55-year-old Grammy winner is rumored to be worth around $50 million.

Although Kenny’s music is normally associated with the “older” crowd, the sax wizard recently stepped outside the box for a cameo in Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” video and jammed with Foster the People in October on Saturday Night Live.
