Christina Aguilera Gives Breathtaking Performance At NBA All-Star Game [Video]

Christina Aguilera performed at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden. The 34-year-old singer-songwriter’s New York City theme performance included the Rockettes and surprise guest performer, Nas.

Christina sang classic songs including Stevie Wonder’s “Livin’ in the City,” Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” and Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.”

Aguilera entered the stage wearing a black pantsuit on a giant, spinning Big Apple. Christina’s first song was Sinatra’s classic “New York, New York.” She followed with “On Broadway” with a small group of backup dancers dipping their top hats and waving their canes.

Halfway through Christina Aguilera’s performance, Nas came out singing a few bars of “New York State of Mind” and disappeared. While All-star attendees looked for Jay-Z when the introduction of “Empire State of Mind” began playing, the Rockettes, a New York dance body, performed some of their amazing choreography while Christina sang Alicia Keys’ hook using her strong voice.

Following the player introductions, the Rockettes returned to perform a rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York.” Queen Latifah sang her interpretation of America’s “The Star-Spangled Banner,” backed by two guitarists. Grammy-nominated R&B vocalist Tamia, who is married to Grant Hill, sang the Canadian National Anthem, in which the 2015 NBA All-Star Game directly followed.

Former President Bill Clinton, Chicago Bulls’ Jimmy Butler, and former NBA basketball player Dikembe Mutombo were among celebrities who attended the game.

One of the early morning highlights of the NBA All-Star game was a concert by Prince celebrating the Jordans brand’s 30th anniversary.

Jimmy Butler expressed his gratitude to Associated Press.

“My brothers are with me so I try to spend a lot of time with them. They get to experience my first All-Star with me. It was amazing. Come on, it’s Prince, and I had a blast. It means the most; it’s really surreal because I’m from a small town, never thought I’d be here. I’ve met so many people, so many good people, including here.”

Grammy-winning singer Christina Aguilera is a mother of two. She says her kids are her top priority. Aguilera has a seven-year-old son named Max from her previous marriage to Jordan Bratman. She welcomed her daughter Summer Rain last year with her fiancé, Matt Rutler.

When Christina returned to “The Voice” as a coach, she told People magazine that juggling a career with motherhood is not easy but as far as she is concerned, Max and Summer come first.

Christina Aguilera simply said the following about her children.

“They are the center of my universe.”
