Powerball Winning Numbers For February 14: Is Valentine’s Day Worth Millions For You?

The over $500 million Powerball jackpot that was won by three people on Wednesday night left a lot of people disappointed. Many wanted to start a new life and never have to worry about going into work again, but there was always hope next time. The Valentine’s Day drawing on February 14 was for an estimated $40 million, and you’ve got to ask…did you win the Powerball?

Here are the winning numbers for February 14: 1, 24, 44, 45, 51 with a Powerball of 28.

For Saturday night’s drawing, the estimated Powerball jackpot was $40 million and it included a cash value payout of $27 million. It may not be splitting $564.1 million three-ways, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Wednesday night’s drawing drew winning tickets in Texas, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico.

USA Today reported that the winner from North Carolina is a mother of four by the name of Marie Holmes. The 26-year-old couldn’t believe her good fortune in being one of three winners in the third-largest Powerball prize in history.

“I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I saw the ticket and checked it.”

Before winning the lottery, Holmes had to quit her jobs at Walmart and McDonalds to care for her four children, one of whom has cerebral palsy. Now, she is going to pay her tithes to the church and then create college funds for her children.

As of Valentine’s Day afternoon, the North Carolina Education Lottery officials had still not confirmed her as a winner. Yahoo! reported that once Holmes is declared a winner, she can take a $127 million lump sum payment or $188 million paid annually over 30 years.

Some don’t feel that smaller Powerball jackpots like tonight’s $40 million is worth buying a ticket to try and win. Others would be happy with any kind of monetary present coming their way and are still hopeful.

If you didn’t match the five numbers and the Powerball for tonight’s $40 million drawing, maybe you matched five? That could win for you and the Power Play could even double it to give you more money.

Never give up on yourself and know that the chance of anyone to win the Powerball lottery is out there. If it wasn’t you on Valentine’s Day, maybe it will be when the next drawing comes up on Wednesday night.
