Nick Jonas To Rock Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards And Gay-Lesbian Mardi Gras, Talks Paleo Diet And MMA [Video]

Get the slime machine ready for Nick Jonas, who has been confirmed as the host for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards. The 22-year-old former member of the Jonas Brothers is stoked about the opportunity to let the green slime slide, reported E! News.

As master of ceremonies for the popular kid-oriented show, Nick is already promoting the event on social media. It’s set to air March 28.

“3.28.15 #KCA @NickelodeonTV,” posted Nick.

Other celebrities who have hosted the Kids’ Choice Awards are Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Josh Duhamel, and Will Smith.

Jonas earned two Kids’ Choice Award nominations previously, and his single, “Chains,” is earning rave reviews.

In addition to hosting the Nickelodeon ceremony, Nick will be headlining the 2015 annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Party, according to the Daily Telegraph.

“I will be making my first appearance in Australia at Mardi Gras,” revealed Jonas. “I am so excited to perform, I know Mardi Gras is an amazing night and whole thing and I am just thrilled.”

Dating beauty queen Olivia Culpo, Nick has some unique views about life as a sex symbol.

“I think if you acknowledge it, it makes it un-sexy.”

Just how close are he and Olivia? He told Wendy Williams on her show that he has stopped wearing his purity ring, reported Us Weekly.

“I’m an adult in all ways,” revealed Jonas.

He praised Olivia for her support.

“We’re enjoying the ride together and its’s been a pretty insane year and half. Lots of changes in both of our lives and she’s been a teammate through all of it.”

Olivia also inspired his single “Jealous,” confessed Nick.

“We went out one night and this guy was looking at her for a little too long… It was uncomfortable. I’m not a jealous person and this was an experience that I was one or two drinks in. I really got into it and then I decided to let me just process this a different way and go into the studio and write this song.”

When it comes to his personal life, however, Nick also has to be careful when it comes to following a healthy lifestyle because of his diabetes diagnosis, as the Inquisitr reported.

Jonas follows a Paleo-style low-carb diet that eliminates grains and sugar. However, when he took on mixed martial arts (MMA) training, he had to modify it slightly, he told Details.

“I don’t have the luxury of eating whatever I want whenever I want anyway, because of my type 1 diabetes, so I have been conscientious about food for a long time. Breakfast was usually an omelet with veggies and cashew cheese, a turkey-meat patty, and some fruit; lunch and dinner would be lean protein, veggies, and nuts; snacks consisted of things like snap peas with peanut sauce.”

To simplify the process, Nick used Paleta, which is a Paleo-style organic food delivery service, he noted.
