Kendall Jenner Looks Stunning, Admits It’s Tough To Get Attention In Her Family During ‘Allure’ Shoot [Video]
Kendall Jenner’s modeling career has taken off over this past year, and the 19-year-old reality star is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. After landing a campaign as the face for Estée Lauder and being taken under the wing of Karl Lagerfeld, thereby allowing her to walk for Chanel in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, the gorgeous brunette is continuing to make moves, including landing the cover of Allure Magazine once again.
On the cover of the March 2015 issue, E! Online notes that Kendall “wears a high drama (but deceptively simple) beauty look, sporting nude lips, fresh, dewy skin and heavily-rimmed eyes.” Within the issue, Jenner sports a variety of racy and revealing bathing suits, yet not quite as revealing as the total frontal shot older sis Kim allowed in Love Magazine recently.
Jenner also chatted a bit about the road to her recent success and about how tricky it is in the Kardashian-Jenner fam to make a mark and stand out from the pack. E! recounts her words.
“As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family. If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about, ‘Oh, Kim goes to Kendall’s first fashion show!’ I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, ‘OK, this is [Kendall’s] thing—and she’s taking it seriously.'”
Surprisingly enough, Kendall didn’t just storm onto the fashion scene out of nowhere either. As a child, she actually crafted a portfolio entitled, “Kendall’s Modeling Book,” and throughout her teens, she worked to make it all happen herself apart from the success of her sisters and family.
Jenner admits to not being flawless all of her young life, as Fashion and Style relays.
“I had just started ninth grade when I got my acne. And I had braces. I wouldn’t look people in the eye. It was not a good time for me — it just killed my self-esteem. I thought when I didn’t look at someone, they couldn’t see my face.”
She has obviously since blossomed and gotten her self-esteem back. The way she takes on the runway makes it hard to believe that Kendall ever felt she was in the shadows of her older sisters. Famously, the couture model admitted to The Cut that she actually told Kim not to attend her shows for the spring-summer season.
All the hard work has certainly paid off. As previously stated, Kendall has worked with some of the biggest names in the business and is now full steam ahead with designing as well. Jenner will be unveiling her Topshop line later this year, one that was a joint effort with sister Kylie Jenner.
A behind-the-scenes video shows the beauty in action while posing in an array of one-piece suits (although the cut outs step up the sex appeal immensely). Posing with a hot male model and a sweet little monkey for a number of the shots, it is clear from the footage that Kendall is pleased with how the shoot pans out as she smiles and says “Yes, yes!” when getting a look at the pictures.
