Presidents Day And Easter 2015 Buzz, From Sales On Valentine’s Day Cards To Newest Movies To Marmite Eggs [Video]

So you’ve got your brand-new calendar for the New Year, all decorated with kittens or puppies or comical cartoons. But what can you anticipate when it comes to upcoming holidays such as Presidents Day and Easter 2015? Get ready for everything from sales starting now on Valentine’s Day cards to movie surprises on President’s Day Monday to strangely flavored Easter eggs.

When it comes to Valentine’s Day cards, you don’t have to spend a lot, reports ABC 13. Just be sure to flip that card over and check the price before you buy.

And the time to start shopping is now, with reduced prices at Walmart and the Dollar Tree.

Follow that same price-is-right shopping guideline for the Presidents Day holiday because the sales start now, according to Refinery 29.

Retailers such as Sandro, Tibi, and Gap are reducing prices significantly. For example, you can save up to 50 percent at the Gap from Feb. 12 through Feb. 15. And on President’s Day Feb. 16 get 40 percent off everything.

In addition, if you’re hunting for Valentine’s Day gifts, you can take advantage of double sales that combine President’s Day deals with Valentine’s sales as the Inquisitr reported.

For example, in the bling devision, consider a charm bracelet with charms specially chosen to reflect your loved one’s unique interests. And in the heartwarming category, Best Friends Animal Society has a special pet adoption deal with just $10 to adopt a cat or dog. Just be sure to ask first to make sure that your animal-loving beloved has time, advises the non-profit rescue group.

Not interested in shopping, but want to head to the movies? You might want to consider the buzz around Fifty Shades of Grey, suggests Bloomberg.

Based on the popular romance novel, the film opens Feb. 13. It may succeed in achieving a box-office record among movies opening on Presidents’ Day weekend. Experts forecast that it will earn $89 million in the U.S. and Canada over the three-day holiday weekend.

If that film doesn’t appeal to you, other movies opening in time for viewing over the holiday weekend include Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Last Five Years, and Somewhere Only We Know, according to Fandango.

Got children? You might want to consider the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, shown below.

What if you have to work on President’s Day? Then contemplate the newest additions to Easter traditions. Among those that you can enjoy for Easter 2015 are Marmite Easter eggs, according to the Daily Mail.

Food corporation Unilever is serving up Marmite chocolate eggs and Easter-themed Pot Noodles. They hope that combining something sweet with something savory will prove a hit along the lines of chocolate-dipped bacon.

What do you think? Is that combination a yum or a yuck? Post your comments below.
