Verizon drops price on Droid RAZR, now $199 for 16GB model

Are you looking to pick up a Droid RAZR, but don’t want to have to throw down $299.99 to get one? If so, you may want to direct your eyes over to Verizon Wireless, who announced today that they will be offering a 16GB Droid RAZR for $199.99 with a new two-year contract.

Aside from the fact that the cheaper Droid RAZR only has 16GB of storage as opposed to 32, there isn’t anything different about the cheaper version. Just about the only difference is that the 16GB microSD card has been removed. If you’d prefer to get the full 32GB, the $299.99 option for that still exists–or you could just buy a microSD card up to 32GB and still save.

Verizon Wireless says that, as of this moment, the cheap 16GB Droid RAZR will only be available in black. If you’d rather have your Droid RAZR in white or purple, you’ll be able to pick up one of those next week on January 23, also for $199.99.

It seems like a pretty good option for those of you have been wanting to get a Droid RAZR, but aren’t interested in picking up the recently-announced Droid RAZR Maxx. It’s not like you’d be missing too much anyway, other than a thicker battery that, according to Motorola, offers “all-day battery life”.
