Kanye West: Confirms He’s Executive Producing Rihanna’s Next Album

Kanye West recently confirmed that he will be the executive producer for Rihanna’s upcoming album. It sounds like the rapper and artist will be doing more than collaborating with the pop singer. West announced on the Grammys red carpet that he will be the executive producing the album.

West spoke with Ryan Seacrest on the E! News red carpet.

“I’m executive producing Rihanna’s album. I played her my album. And I said, ‘I got a few songs with Paul McCartney.’ She couldn’t get past the record. She had to have it on her album. So now we’re at the Grammys doing it.”

Kanye and Rihanna have collaborated a few times now, according to Entertainment Weekly. Kanye was already featured on Rihanna’s new single “FourFiveSeconds.” The pair previously collaborated on songs like “All of the Lights” from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and “Run This Town” from The Blueprint 3. Kanye not only featured in the songs, but he produced them as well.

Rihanna hasn’t given fans too many details about her rumored R8 album. She hasn’t even announced the album’s release date yet. However, she gave fans a preview of her upcoming music when she performed “FourFiveSeconds” with West and Paul McCartney. Fans are wondering if Rihanna’s album will be mellow and laid-back like her new single.

Rihanna’s eighth studio album is reported as one of the most anticipated albums of the year, according to Time magazine. However, it may have some hints of pop and EDM, as some of her demos leaked onto the internet.

West attended the Grammy Awards alongside wife, Kim Kardashian-West. The rapper also performed his emotional song titled “Only One.” The song is reported to be about his daughter North West and his late mother, Donda West.

Of course, Kanye wasn’t without his share of controversy at the Grammys. The rapper rushed up the stage when Beck accepted his award for Album of the Year, according to a report on the Inquisitr. Most people in the audience at home thought the incident was a joke, but he was being serious. Kanye felt that Beyonce should’ve won the award for Album of the Year.

Kanye was asked by E! News about the onstage incident. He said that he feels that real artists need recognition in the business.

“I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.”

Some fans think that West should’ve stayed in his seat. Meanwhile, others think he should just focus on the music rather than his antics. What do you think about Kanye West’s executive producing about Rihanna’s album? Are you looking forward to her new release?
