The police are searching for any clues and help in trying to figure out how several bodies were found in a home in New Port Richey, Florida. Help is being asked for in the community as there are “no leads” at all regarding the several people who were found dead in the Moon Lake home.
According to My Fox Tampa Bay, it was right before 5 a.m. on Monday morning that police responded to a number of reports of a shooting near Adler Street and Banbury Avenue in the Moon Lake section of New Port Richey, Florida.
Upon arriving on the scene, police found several bodies in a home. No names have been released as of yet, and it isn’t known just how many victims were found. All that has gotten out is that there are “multiple” people dead in the home.
It is known that there is at least one suspect on the run, and Sheriff Chris Nocco is pleading to anyone with information to come forward.
“Drugs may be involved in this case and it may be a targeted hit. We have no real leads that we are working on but we’re trying to get all the information possible.”
With no real information, the police have not revealed a lot of information. Some people are assuming that Sheriff Nocco’s words of “targeted hit” could mean a mass shooting, but that hasn’t been revealed either.
The manner of death has not and will not be confirmed until medical examiners are able to examine the bodies found in the home, per ABC Action News.
The police are urging those with information or knowledge of the situation to not put themselves in danger. They do not want anyone approaching the individual or individuals if they know those people had something to do with these deaths.
“We’ve got a violent individual, somebody who’s killed numerous people this morning,” Sheriff Nocco continued. “We don’t know what their next step is, but I tell you right now: Whoever you are, turn yourself in. Because in the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, we come at force with force. We don’t back down, and by any means possible, this person will be taken in.”
For now, the police are going to continue to investigate how several bodies were found in New Port Richey, Florida, and hope more information becomes known soon. If anyone has any information at all, they are being asked to call 1-800-706-2488 or they can submit anonymous tips at paschosheriff.us.
