‘Destiny’ Community Plays What If Arnold Schwarzenegger Or Samuel L. Jackson Voiced Ghost?

Much has been made of Peter Dinklage’s voice acting performance as Ghost in Destiny for the PlayStation and Xbox. Some members of the game’s community have started to wonder, what if some other Hollywood stars voiced the AI companion instead, and the results are hilarious.

Reddit user’s t0nin0t and willisgaming2 shared videos of what it would be like if Samuel L. Jackson and Arnold Schwarzenegger had voiced Ghost instead of Peter Dinklage. There is lots of not safe for work swearing in these videos so please watch them with headphones on or in the comfort of your own home.

The Samuel L. Jackson Destiny video mixes in voice cuts from Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane, and other notable quotes from the actor’s collection of films. The MF-bomb is dropped immediately in the video, which is a reflection of Jackson’s acting career and what he is known for. Still, it’s funny to see interpose his reaction to some of the most groan-worthy Destiny lines, such as ” I don’t have time to explain why I don’t have time to explain.”

For the Schwarzenegger video, willisgaming2 admitted to inspiration from the Samuel L. effort and grabbed voice cuts from Predator, Terminator 2, Total Recall, and more to come up with the comical cut-up video. Again, some of Destiny‘s most exasperating bits of dialogue are turned into applause worthy responses. And yes, there’s a language warning with this video as well.

It looks like t0nin0t has started a new trend in the Destiny community. It should be interesting to see what other Hollywood actors or actresses can be mixed in with Ghost. If nothing else, it should help keep the Destiny community occupied until The House of Wolves expansion is released sometime between April and June this year.

Destiny appears to have hit a bit of a lull since the release of The Dark Below expansion in December, followed by the Crota’s End raid hard mode in January. Players have already poured dozens to hundreds of hours in the game, and there’s not much left to do other than re-run the same Strikes and Raids on weekly basis. A Reddit thread already has over 1,200 comments which echo that opinion.

Until the release of the second expansion, we have the 1.11 update to Destiny that will make gameplay balance tweaks to Destiny‘s weapons. There will perhaps be a couple of more Iron Banner events and who knows about the Queen’s Wrath.

Anyway, what do you think of the Samuel L. Jackson and Arnold Schwarzenegger Destiny videos? Who else would you like to see voice Ghost? Sound off in the comments below.
