‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Sequels Are Moving Forward

Fifty Shades of Grey is presently perched to become one of the hottest and most popular films of the year. In fact, ticket sales are blasting through the proverbial roof, particularly in Mississippi, Arkansas, and West Virgina, according to the New York Daily News.

However, rumblings from the cast — Jamie Dornan, in particular — suggested that the stars may not return for the proposed Fifty Shades of Grey sequels. Since author E.L. James managed to cough up a trilogy based on the naughty adventures of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, fans of the racy novels were left wondering if these characters would return the big screen for two more outings.

According to Cinema Blend, Fifty Shades fanatics need not worry about the future of the franchise. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson, author E.L. James, and stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson appeared at a special fan screening in New York City on Friday, February 6. Instead of keeping everyone in the dark, the foursome revealed that, yes, the next two installments of the series are heading to the big screen.

While details about the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels are few and far between at the moment, fans can breathe easy knowing that Steele and Grey will continue their kinky relationship into two more pictures. MTV News explains that robust ticket pre-sales for the first installment helped seal the deal.

Not surprisingly, MTV notes that those in the audience lost their minds.

“The fans in attendance started freaking out almost immediately, to the point where one might even say their inner goddesses were soaring.”

Folks on Twitter seem pretty happy about the situation as well.

Hopefully Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan will get his fears under control before filming begins. The Inquisitr reported last month that the actor fears the absolute worst when it comes to the books’ extremely rabid legion of fans.

“I almost don’t want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I’ll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere. Because a lot of people are very angry that I’m playing this character. And I’m a father now, and a husband. I don’t want to die yet.”

Are you impossibly excited for the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels? Are you planning to catch the first installment on February 13?
