Cat Escapes From Shelter After 20 Minutes, Finds His Way Back To Original Rescuer

When Ann Bosche dropped off a stray cat at a local shelter, she did not think she would ever see the cat again; however, the cat she called Mr. Fancy had other plans. After only 20 minutes at the shelter, the cat escaped and found his way back to the Mississippi woman who had rescued him.

According to People, Mr. Fancy battled busy streets and rough neighborhoods to find his way back to Ann.

Two months prior to the cat’s breakout from the shelter, he showed up one night at Bosche’s house in poor shape, thin and dirty, but beautiful.

“We get several dogs and cats dropped off in this neighborhood so I figured this was another one. What came out from under that bush was a large, beautiful cat with a white tip on his tail. I said, ‘Aren’t you a fancy thing?'”

Ann Bosche tells Care2 she began feeding the cat she named Mr. Fancy daily, but her husband soon started objecting to adding another furry family member to the household.

“After a week, he was on the porch, morning and evening, waiting. He stayed a month. My husband figured we already had enough animals with a dog and two cats and wanted me to take the cat to the animal shelter. The next morning, I reluctantly loaded him up in a cat carrier and off we went…I cried the five miles back to my house.”

Ms. Bosche repeatedly checked the shelter’s website for an adoption photo of the cat, but none came. Unbeknownst to Ann, 20 minutes after she dropped Mr. Fancy at the shelter, he escaped.

About a month later, Ann Bosche says she woke up to her husband having a conversation with someone in the kitchen. She thought this odd since it was only 5:30 a.m., so she went to the kitchen to find out what was going on and got a most pleasant surprise.

“I got up to see and what I found was nothing short of a miracle. I saw a cat, sitting at my husband’s feet, talking to him. I kept trying to focus on the cat and when he flipped his tail around, I saw proof. There was the white tip. I started crying and quietly said ‘Oh my baby, Hi Fancy.’ He turned, saw me and ran to me, talking and squealing the whole way. I truly think he was saying ‘I found you! I’m home now.'”

Ann Bosche says this only proves the two are meant to be together and that the cat is now part of the family. Mr. Fancy will never want for a home, food or love ever again, she says.
