Cissy Houston At Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Bedside
Cissy Houston, the grandmother of Bobbi Kristina Brown, has arrived to the Atlanta hospital where her granddaughter is in a medically induced coma.
According to People magazine, the mother of the late Whitney Houston arrived to Emory University Hospital on Friday afternoon with several people at her side. Although this has been an emotional ordeal for the Brown and Houston family, a source told People that Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy, was “composed and formally dressed.”
It’s been said that Cissy Houston and Bobbi Kristina Brown haven’t had the best relationship, and were estranged. Back in 2013, Cissy posted an open letter to Bobbi Kristina, after she refused to speak with Houston over a book she penned about Whitney called “Remembering Whitney.”
Back then, she took to Twitter to address her granddaughter.
“I know you were upset that I wrote my book, but I hope one day you’ll read it and understand that I just wanted to let the world see some of My Nippy — the sweet, friendly, loving little girl with the extraordinary beauty and boundless talent, who grew into the superstar and musical icon the world saw.”
Bobbi Kristina was also estranged from her father Bobby Brown, but they were pictured on Father’s Day sharing a laugh.

Back in June, Bobbi Kristina posted photos of the two embracing on Twitter. One caption said, “My face says it all. I love you daddy.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found facedown in her bathtub in her Atlanta home. Her partner, Nick Gordon, administered CPR in an attempt to get her to breathe, and officials took over at the scene. Actor and director Tyler Perry heard of the news and took it upon himself to fly Bobby Brown to Atlanta so he could be at his daughter’s bedside.
Earlier reports had said that Bobbi Kristina was taken off life support, but these reports were refuted by the family. The only official statement given by the Houston family was days ago.
“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
