Rihanna Recreates ‘Jaws’ Poster, Swims With Sharks For Magazine Cover

Rihanna is at it again. The R&B star is once again pushing the envelope. This time around, it’s not a racy video, but instead two covers on the March issue for Harper’s Bazaar. The singer made her best out of an aquarium tank in Florida for her outrageous shoot.

The result is the singer making a huge splash by swimming with the sharks to recreate a Jaws-esque centerfold for the magazine. The photos show Rihanna immersed in a deep sea environment, complete with coral and sharks.

On one of the covers, Rihanna is giving her best Marilyn Monroe pose inside a fake shark’s mouth. Even though the shark isn’t real, it’s a jarring look. The photo shoot wasn’t all fake. Rihanna actually swam with three sand tiger sharks for most of the shoot.

Rihanna is always jet setting all over the world, so when the R&B star was asked what her greatest adventure was so far, she immediately thought of the photo shoot.

“Greatest adventure? Are you kidding me? I just did a photo shoot in the midst of sharks. It’s going to be pretty hard to beat that.”

These days, Rihanna — who has banked on her wild and dangerous ways — has admitted she knows now how to navigate through “shark-infested waters” without seeking them out.

“I try my best to avoid the sharks of life, but I have had my share of experiences with them, and in those cases I just have to handle them accordingly. But I do not swim with sharks … sharks swim with sharks.”

So why the Jaws homage? Well, in case you didn’t know, Jaws turned 40 this year, so what better way to celebrate it than to merge the iconic sharks with a pop culture icon in a gold Chanel swimsuit? Fans seem to dig the photo shoot.
