Matt Kenseth Wins Daytona 500

Matt Kenseth is the winner of the 2009 Daytona 500.

Kenseth won the race in interesting circumstances. Kenseth passed Elliott Sadler for the lead shortly before a yellow came out for an accident, and the yellow flag never came off, with NASCAR officials deciding to stop the race due to rain on the 152nd lap.

“It’s gonna be really wet out here because I’m crying like a baby, but I’ve just got to thank my team and thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity first of all,” said Kenseth after being declared the winner.

“Man, I don’t know. Winning the Daytona 500 is definitely a dream moment. It’s just an unbelievable feeling.”
