Naya Rivera Will Play Bianca In Lifetime’s ‘Devious Maids’

Glee cast member Naya Rivera has landed a role on Devious Maids. She will star as a recurring character in the third season of the Lifetime show. With Glee wrapping up its final season, this news couldn’t come at a better time for Rivera’s fans. According to reports, Rivera will be playing a character named Bianca who “works for a picture-perfect Beverly Hills family – or so she thinks. She will soon discover a horrible secret that has the power to change her life forever.” The third season of Devious Maids will be aired this summer.

Aside from her role in Devious Maids, Naya Rivera is also set to return as a guest co-host on The View. Rivera will be co-hosting several episodes of the talk show this month, and it looks like The View‘s producers have a lot in store for Rivera. Her previous two appearances gained traction especially on social media and pretty much expanded the show’s demographic.

Naya Rivera was interviewed by Cosmopolitan for their Spring 2014 issue. In the interview, the actress opened up about her views on romantic relationships as well as her career.

“Latinas are really great nurturers who are great to our men; we love hard and we love to cook. The other morning I woke up and was like, ‘I need china — this table needs to be set all the time!’ Focusing on those things is where I’m at right now,” Rivera said.

Rivera also talked about how she pretty much became the breadwinner when her family fell on tough times.

“I was very resourceful when it came to getting a job. I was the ultimate liar on a resume,” Naya Rivera said. “At the tender age of 19, I said I had a bachelor’s degree; they never checked! Even when I didn’t have much, I always acted as if I had everything I wanted. Latin women are go-getters by nature. We have a certain charm and finesse that gets us what we want.”

Naya Rivera rose to prominence for her role as Santana Lopez in the TV show Glee. While the list of TV shows that she has appeared in is extensive, her film roles are pretty much few and far between with 2014’s At the Devil’s Door being her first starring role in a motion picture.

Rivera is married to fellow actor Ryan Dorsey, whom she began dating right after splitting up with recording artist Big Sean.
