Jimmy Fallon Spoofs ‘Fresh Prince’ Intro For ‘Tonight Show’

Jimmy Fallon was able to spoof one of the most popular TV sitcom title sequences nearly perfectly — The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The current host of the Tonight Show apparently wanted to find a creative way to let his fans and followers know why he decided to move the location of the show from New York to Los Angeles temporarily.

According to the footage (and catchy lyrics), the inclement weather in New York City had a lot to do with the decision to move — especially since a lot of businesses have closed due to the recent snow storms.

Instead of simply making an announcement about the temporary move to Los Angeles, Jimmy Fallon decided to break the news with a hilarious cold open that has since gone viral.

In the video, Fallon and The Roots work together to recreate the iconic Fresh Prince of Bel-Air title sequence and intro.

With cameo appearances from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribeiro, the video definitely seemed as if it had the necessary stamp of approval — Fallon even nailed the wardrobe as well.

Perhaps the fact that The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired on the same network as the Tonight Show (NBC) during its original run, from September 1990 to May 1996, helped out as well.

Either way, not very many people could have pulled off this type of spoof as successfully as Jimmy Fallon. However, fans of the Tonight Show, as well as Fallon’s past Saturday Night Live sketches, are well-aware of the fact that he is very funny and has seemed to master the art of comic timing.

Jimmy Fallon has been known for his numerous pranks, parodies, and spoofs long before he became the current host of the Tonight Show. However, whenever he is able to take a popular song and spin it, Fallon seems to successfully create viral hit after viral hit.
