‘Deadpool’ Movie Leaked Video Is The Reason It’s Happening, Says Ryan Reynolds

The leaked Deadpool video is why the movie is happening at all, according to Ryan Reynolds, and the best news is that they have been given the freedom to make the movie the way they want to. As in, we obviously should not expect this new Deadpool movie to be anything like that non-Deadpool character from that Wolverine movie that had fans furious.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, the Deadpool cast rumors claim we will see some new actors and actresses for the various roles to be filled. It’s also possible Fox is working on a live action X-Men TV series.

The reason Ryan Reynolds gets to say that it’s chimichanga time is because of the leaked Deadpool video, which showed off early test footage. Reynolds says the leak “100 percent” was the reason the project suddenly was fast-tracked into production. Interestingly enough, the actor has no clue who actually leaked it onto the internet, although everyone is happy it happened.

“[Y]ou can look back at an email chain from all of us, the core group involved in Deadpool, saying ‘We should leak this, f***,’ like three years ago. Saying, ‘Hey, if this thing is going to stagnate, one of us should just say “Whoops, I slipped it online by accident.” And nobody seemed to want to nut up and do that, myself included. Someone did it for us, years later, when we all completely assumed it was dead in the water,” Reynolds said, according to Yahoo Movies.

“Honestly, we all thought Tim Miller, the director, had leaked it. But I have since investigated that enough, in quiet moments when he was beyond the point of being penalized by anybody, and he said that he really didn’t do it. The initial [leak] came from Fox they think — someone recorded the footage on their iPhone and then released it. And then once that happened, somebody hacked into Blurred Studios and got the original footage in high-res and put it online.”

Ryan Reynolds says the budget for Deadpool will not match up to most superhero movies like Batman or Superman, but the best part is that “we get to make it the way we want to make it, so that’s even more exciting than having a catered lunch.” Although the Deadpool script is already over three years old, it’s also been leaked in the past and Reynolds knows they’ve struck gold since fans love it.

Still, the actor admits that “a lot of superhero movies don’t really have a fully functioning draft of the screenplay ready until they’re already well into shooting.” Let’s just hope the final product is as good as the leaked Deadpool video. Otherwise, you just know Deadpool will break that fourth wall down and beat the heck out of Ryan Reynolds with a chimichanga.
