Liam Payne: The Latest One Direction Star To Collaborate — Is The End Nigh For 1D?

As every One Direction fan knows, Liam Payne will join up with his bandmates later this week to kick off the band’s latest world tour. Liam is currently in Los Angeles along with Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. Niall Horan took the opportunity to head down under before his mates and took in the final three rounds of the Australian Open tennis. Niall watched Andy Murray get to and lose the final of the tennis tournament. Zayn Malik is believed to still be in the UK, where much has been made of the time he has spent in the studio with his friend Naughty Boy.

It has been reported in the Mirror over the last few days that Liam Payne has been in the studio with rapper Juicy J. It is not clear if Liam and Juicy J are collaborating on a track for the rapper’s upcoming fifth album or another project, but the star did post a photograph of himself and Liam on Instagram. Liam confirmed the collaboration on Twitter when he revealed that they had worked late into the night.

Time reported that Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have been spotted hanging out in a recording studio with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and ex-Daughtry drummer Robin Diaz. Recent weeks have also seen stories that Louis Tomlinson has established a business, and that Harry Styles has been collaborating with “Bang Bang” star Meghan Trainor.

It has also been revealed in the Daily Mail that Harry Styles has been in negotiations with legendary film producer Harvey Weinstein to discuss appearing in a Hollywood blockbuster. With Liam, Louis, Zayn, and Harry all apparently involved in musical side projects, questions as to whether this year’s tour will prove to be One Directions swan song are bound to arise.

Liam Payne and One Direction

Liam Payne and his pals had the biggest tour of 2014; their world tour being seen by an estimated 3.5 million people and netting the band over $250 million. This year’s tour is likely to be just as huge with over 80 dates across the globe already booked.

Liam Payne and his pals are under contract to Simon Cowell’s SyCo until the end of 2015, and it is unlikely that any of the band members would break that contract, as it would cost each of them tens of millions of dollars. With all of these side projects emerging, and with Zayn Malik having postponed his marriage to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards because of the pressures of their respective touring commitments, questions are bound to be raised as to whether One Direction will be around as a band this time next year.

Perhaps Liam Payne and his pals are simply becoming interested in different things as they mature. What do Inquisitr readers think?
