It was recently discovered that Mitt Romney is half-Mexican. Kind of. Romney’s father, of American descent, was born in Mexico and came to the United States when he was 5 years of age. But, in truth, Mitt Romney’s father did not have Mexican citizenship. All in all, it does show that Romney’s father was an immigrant who came back to the USA for a better life. So what does all this say about Mitt Romney‘s immigration standpoint?

The above revelation may have everything to do with the fact that Romney is not very popular with Latino voters. He only received 23% in a recent poll of Latino voters by the Pew Hispanic Center which would make Barack Obama far more popular with Latino voters. Therefore, Mitt Romney plays the family card hoping that Latino voters will buy into it.

Let’s stick to the facts which go like this: Mitt Romney wants to veto the Dream Act if he’s elected, therefore denying Hispanic immigrants college education or military service, and he’s also been against helping the illegal immigrants to integrate or have legal means of working. Lionel Sosa, advertising executive and Republican strategist who advised George W. Bush and John McCain, said: “(Romney) can make as many trips to Florida and New Mexico and Colorado and other swing states that have a large Latino population, but he can write off the Latino vote.” Guess no one’s buying it, Mitt.
