Bravo Scrambles To Recast ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’

Bravo is reportedly scrambling to recast The Real Housewives of New Jersey ahead of Season 7.

On January 30, a source revealed the following to Radar Online.

“After the seedy drama surrounding Teresa Giudice, production really wants to class up the franchise. They’re looking for someone like Lisa Vanderpump from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“Mercedes? BMW? That’s not at all what they’re looking for. They want someone who drives even more expensive cars than those. Think Bentley. They also want someone who has a huge house.”

Unfortunately, the type of women the network is searching for don’t appear to be interested in joining the “trashy” reality program.

“Women who have that much money simply are not interested in doing something like the Jersey Housewives. For one, they find it to be a trashy franchise. Some of them also do not want the scrutiny of the IRS! Anyone who would go on that show with massive amounts of money would likely be closely monitored after what happened to Teresa, so some people are simply choosing not to do that to themselves.”

As the Inquisitr reported, The Real Housewives of New Jersey will reportedly begin filming soon, despite Giudice’s current prison term.

“The show will absolutely go on without Teresa,” a source close to the series told Radar Online. “Bravo isn’t expected to make it public until the end of February, but filming has been loosely scheduled for late April, early May. No formal dates have been made for filming to begin because producers are still looking for potential new cast members.”

As for the three women added last year, twins Teresa Aprea and Nicole Napolitano and Amber Marchese, the source claimed the twins would likely get the boot.

“They are seriously considering getting rid of some of the new girls. It doesn’t seem that they worked out.”

After The Real Housewives of New Jersey wrapped
Season 5, Caroline Manzo moved on to her own spinoff, Manzo’d With Children, and Jacqueline Laurita’s contract wasn’t renewed. Although Laurita was eventually asked back, Dina Manzo was rehired in her place, in addition to the three news ladies. Kathy Wakile also returned, but only in a limited role.

Meanwhile, Giudice and Melissa Gorga have maintained their official housewife status since they began their run on the show, Giudice during Season 1 and Gorga during Season 3.

Bravo has yet to speak out in regard to the news of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7.
