Farrah Abraham Is Returning To ‘Teen Mom’ Despite Co-Stars’ Alleged Complaints: ‘I’m Excited To Be Back’

Farrah Abraham is coming back to MTV for the fifth season of Teen Mom. Despite her co-stars’ reported complaints about her being a part of the series, Abraham will be seen alongside Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Lowell when the show returns.

“There’s going to be lots of excitement from the Teen Mom fans and MTV’s fan base as well, so I’m excited to be back!” Abraham told Us Weekly on January 30.

According to Abraham, fans weren’t happy when the magazine first reported she would not be a part of Teen Mom Season 5 last year.

“I think they were more or less saying that there was more to my story that they really felt was missing from the Teen Mom show, and I totally agree with them. I understand their point of view, and it was a funny situation to be in.”

Teen Mom creator Lauren Dolgen also confirmed the news of Farrah Abraham’s return, explaining the announcement hasn’t exactly come as good news to the rest of the cast.

“[The other girls] know that she’s coming back, and it did create a little bit of controversy that will play out in the series.”

Still, despite the other girls’ issues with the sex tape star, Dolgen said it was important to bring Abraham back.

“It was obvious to me that we needed the fourth story. There is such a balance of having four stories. There is more of [Farrah’s] story to tell. The girls missed opportunities because they were young mothers and now they have new challenges and new opportunities, but it’s just been an important part of the story telling.”

As for how things are with her co-stars these days, Abraham said she was under the impression that they’ve moved on and are now in a better place.

“I mean from what I know, from what they’ve led me to believe. So I wish [Catelynn and Tyler] all the best with their new child and all those type of things. I’m just hoping that [the cast is] better off, and they’re doing well because I know personally I’m providing for my daughter, making my future as best as I can as well.”

While Abraham said in the past that she wasn’t planning to rejoin her co-stars, she recently reconsidered, claiming it was her daughter who would benefit from being on the series.

“I think it was important because I mean just weighing out the options and my future for my daughter. I think Teen Mom is important for the children and their futures. And I think it holds some good opportunities for Sophia and her future.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Farrah Abraham teased a return to MTV earlier this month.

Speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Abraham said she had a number of projects in the works “from, like, NBC, to MTV, to E!, VH1.”
