Liam Payne Joins Forces With Rapper Juicy J

Liam Payne continues to stretch his legs beyond the confines of pop music. Shortly after One Direction fans heard rumblings that Zayn Malik was working with Naughty Boy once again, word on the street suggests that Payne is joining forces with Juicy J.

Rumor has it that One Direction’s contract expires at the end of 2015. This tidbit of deeply distressing info has 1D obsessives worried that their favorite band could decide to call it quits in a relatively short amount of time. The fact that Payne and Malik are working with folks outside of the group only thickens the plot and confirms everyone’s suspicions.

Or does it? Before you start speculating wildly about Liam Payne’s solo rap album, the folks over at TV3.ie explain that Juicy J could appear on the band’s upcoming fifth record, which should see the light of day before the end of the year.

Here’s what one of those conveniently anonymous sources had to say about the album.

“There has been a bit of a question about the timing of the fifth album but there was never any doubt it would be released, despite the ridiculous speculation. Initially the guys thought they might want more time away from the studio because they’ve been busy promoting ‘Four.’ But they’ve been itching to get back recording again because it’s what they love to do, so it’s full steam ahead.”

But wait — there’s more!

“It’s a formula that’s worked before and it’s how the lads like to work. The reality is that after nearly five years together they are very much in control of their sound and the process.”

According to Ace Showbiz, Juicy J originally shared the photo (embedded above) of Liam Payne on January 29. Not surprisingly, it didn’t long for the pic to make the rounds online. And if you’re wondering that perhaps the rapper and Payne were simply enjoying a leisurely moment on a couch, Juicy J offered up the following caption.

“We working! @fakeliampayne,” he wrote on Instagram.

As Hollywood Life points out, Liam Payne and 1D fanatics are beside themselves with excitement. It’s unclear how Three 6 Mafia enthusiasts feel about the situation.
