It’s Confirmed: Harry Styles Wrote The Lyrics To Kodaline’s ‘Make It Feel Right’
After fans of Kodaline posted a set of mysterious lyrics on Twitter, rumors surfaced that they might have been written by One Direction’s own Harry Styles. Now it has been officially confirmed that Harry Styles did, indeed, pen the emotional words to Kodaline’s “Make It Feel Right.”
According to the Independent, the Harry Styles rumor was confirmed by the host of Radio 1 Breakfast Show, DJ Nick Grimshow. He called Kodaline’s Mark Prendergast and got him to admit the song was a collaboration between the band and One Direction’s talented songwriter, Styles.
It took Prendergast a minute to remember for sure whether or not Harry Styles was behind the lyrics. But after the radio host read the words to him over the phone, he said, “I think they are, yes. We wrote the song ages ago but that sounds like them, all right.”

Style’s heartfelt lyrics read, “You give me something, what it is I just don’t know. But I feel like a time bomb ticking, and without you I might blow. You give me the feeling, you give me a hiding place. Our love is bitter, but I really like the taste. Who said it was easy? Taking it day by day. But always remember, I’ll love you anyway.”
According to Sugarscape, Harry Styles only contributed the words to “Make It Feel Right,” while Kodaline provided the music. But that doesn’t mean Harry Styles can’t come up with a tune on his own. Styles has become famous lately for cranking out collaborations with artists like Ariana Grande and, recently, Meghan Trainor.
Harry and Meghan wrote a new song together called “Someday Maybe,” which will be performed as a duet. Trainor spoke to the Sun about working with Harry Styles.
“It’s a duet. It’s a beautiful song we wrote together on my ukulele. We even recorded a rough demo together with our vocals together. It’s a cute acoustic love thing… A friend of mine said Harry was a fan and said he would love to write with me. He’s an incredible writer, too. I was worried he’d just be a 20-year-old boy. So I walked in with a prepared verse and chorus. But he gave me very poetic, mature lyrics. I was like, ‘Well, d**n, Harry, you know what love is.'”
