Cindra Ladd Accuses Bill Cosby Of Sexual Assault

Cindra Ladd, former entertainment executive and wife of Oscar-winning producer Alan Ladd, Jr., alleges Bill Cosby drugged and raped her 45 years ago.

In a Huffington Post blog, Ladd recounts the alleged incident which occurred in New York, year 1969. She was a 21-year-old and Bill Cosby was then 32 and married to Camille.

She said Cosby asked for her number, and she gave it to him.

Ladd said she, Cosby and a roommate began “hanging out,” eating pizza and hot dogs in Ladd’s apartment. She also said he was a “perfect gentleman,” didn’t come on to her or the roommate, which made her wonder what his motives were.

On another day, Ladd and Cosby met at an apartment he said belonged to a friend. They were going out to a movie, but she had a headache. He offered her a pill, a “miracle cure” and she asked what it was. He asked if she trusted him.

She did and took the pill. Ladd stated the two proceeded to the movie, but the details of the night are foggy.

I have a vague recollection of feeling like I was floating while walking through Times Square and watching some kind of Japanese samurai movie with him. I don’t remember where the theater was nor very much of the evening.

Cindra Ladd recalls waking up nude in the bed of Cosby’s friends apartment the next morning.

What I do recall, vividly and clearly, is waking up the next morning nude in the bed of his friend’s apartment and seeing Cosby wearing a white terry cloth bathrobe and acting as if there was nothing unusual. It was obvious to me that he had had sex with me. I was horrified, embarrassed and ashamed. There was a mirror above the bed, which shocked me further.

She also answered the question of why she didn’t go to the police.

It never occurred to me to go to the police. It was a different time and ‘date rape’ was a concept that didn’t exist.

Ladd told her roommate, but didn’t talk about what happened that night with anyone for 36 years. When she married at age 37, she didn’t even tell her husband. (Ladd Jr.’s work includes Brave Heart, Chariots of Fire, The Right Stuff, and Blade Runner.)

She told her spouse in 2005, when Andrea Constand, accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting her. Cosby later reached a monetary settlement with Constand.

I always thought I was the only one. I couldn’t believe he had done this to others.

Ladd also clarified her motivation for coming forward now, stating more than 20 women have spoken and “the truth deserves to be known.”

This is the first time I have chosen to speak out about that night. It is also the last time I intend to address it publicly. I have no plans to sue, I don’t want or need money. I have no plans for a press conference or for doing any interviews.

Cosby continues to deny allegations, but about 1,200 who bought tickets to see his Denver, Colorado performance asked for refunds. The other 1,800 who attended gave the comedian a standing ovation.

As Cindra Ladd joins the women who have accused the 77-year-old Cosby, his lawyers haven’t responded to a request for comment on Ladd’s allegations.
