Meghan Trainor Wants To Write For One Direction and Beyonce, Talks Not Making Any Money

There may be a Meghan Trainor and One Direction single in the near future. During a recent interview with the Daily Star, the songstress talked about working with Harry Styles on a demo and wanting to pen a song for One Direction.

“Harry is the best person to work with. Nice, funny and very normal. I would love to write together again and I think it will happen, absolutely. It would be amazing if they wanted me to write with them for their next album. I just love writing so I would love to.”

Meghan has already written one song with Harry, a song that may or may never be released. During her appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month, Trainor admitted that she originally didn’t think that Harry had much talent as a songwriter but was quickly proved wrong.

“He’s an incredible writer, too. I was worried he’d just be a 20-year-old boy. So I walked in with a prepared verse and chorus. But he gave me very poetic, mature lyrics. I was like, ‘Well, damn, Harry, you know what love is.'”

During her interview with the Daily Star, Meghan Trainor also revealed that her “dream artist to write for would be Beyoncé.” However, Meghan admitted that she has yet to send any songs to Beyonce because she’s “too shy.”

What may come as a surprise to many fans of the singer and songwriter, whose current hits include “All About That Bass,” which, as the Inquisitr previously reported, even has a parody, and “Lips Are Movin,” is that she’s not rolling in the dough. Meghan admitted that instead of living the rich life, she’s living off handouts from her record label, at least for now.

“I haven’t made any money yet. They say I will get a big fat cheque after nine months which will be in April so I’m hoping that’s right. People think I must be rich but I’m not. I haven’t been able to make a big purchase yet but I’m working on it.”

Meghan Trainor’s debut album, Title, grabbed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts when it was released in early January. Billboard reported that the achievement made Trainor just the 13th female artist in history with both a No. 1 debut album and a No. 1 debut Billboard Hot 100 hit, joining the ranks of The Singing Nun, Tiffany, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Ashanti, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Leona Lewis, and Ke$ha.
