Gia Giudice Capitalizes On Mom’s Jail Time, Releases Song ‘Just 13’ [Video]
Gia Giudice has released a new song and music video for “Just 13”. The reality star penned the lyrics with her voice coach, and she says that the song was really therapeutic for her. According to Radar Online, Gia released the emotional song on Friday, nearly three weeks after her mom, Teresa Giudice (from The Real Housewives Of New Jersey), went to prison on federal fraud charges.
“My voice teacher and I sat down and we just basically like poured out our thoughts. It was really just a song based on my experience and what I’m going through, and it was really just me and her like really writing it out and just expressing ourselves,” Gia explained. “I just want [my fans] to know that I’m okay, but also give them a little input of what I’m going through.”
Gia Giudice has visited her mother in jail, and she has said that things are going well. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Gia said that her mom is doing “amazing,” and that she and her three sisters are doing okay. She also mentioned that her dad, Joe, has been a “rock” for the girls during this trying time, which is super important.
Gia Giudice has been kicking her music career into high gear, and is really focused on making a name for herself along with her girl band called 3KT. “Just 13” is undoubtedly very special for Gia, and it is really the first track that she has released without her friends.
According to E! News, Gia says that she was with her mom every step of the way and that she was 13 when all of the legal things came crashing down on her family. The song is meant to represent her strength through the hard times that she has had to deal with at such a young age.
The lyrics are pretty raw, and seem to explain what Gia has been feeling.
“Mama said be strong / So against this storm I stand through it all / It’s just a joke to you / I’m just another hashtag / And if a camera crew followed you / What would they see / You’re just like me.”
The music video (above) is also emotional. It features Gia singing in front of a black backdrop. There are also family pictures and even a clip of Teresa at the end. It is clear that Gia really wanted to do this not only for herself, but for her mom too.
