Freestyle motocross rider Jeremy Lusk was killed last night during an X-Knights event in Costa Rica.
Lusk was attempting a stunt called a Seatgrab Indian Backflip when he lost control, with his head slamming into the ground.
Lusk was rushed to Calderon Hospital ICU in San Jose, where he was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, and underwent a 4 1/2-hour long surgery. He was then put into a medically induced coma and never regained consciousness.
Lusk was a rising star in the sport, grabbing X Game gold in the FMX event and silver in Moto X best trick. Lusk was named FMX rider of the year in December.
