Yolanda Foster’s Daughter Gigi Hadid Opens Up About Her Battle With Lyme Disease

Yolanda Foster’s daughter, Gigi Hadid, recently spoke out about her mother’s battle with Lyme disease.

In an interview with Us Weekly on January 22 at West Hollywood, California’s Sunset Tower Hotel, Hadid revealed how she’s keeping in contact with her mother, Yolanda Foster, who is currently in Asia with husband David, and gave an update on her health.

“We try to call her and FaceTime her with what’s going on and keep her feeling like she’s not too far away. It [lifts her spirits]. I think that she kind of looks forward to it. Right now she’s going through a lot, so even a little FaceTime once in a while helps.”

During her appearance at the Sunset Tower Hotel, where she was named Model of the Year at the First Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, Hadid also spoke of her future plans to marry Cody Simpson, whom she’s been dating on-and-off for the last couple of years.

“I guess I’ll know when the time is right but I don’t have a plan. I don’t need to get married young and I also don’t need to wait, it’s just whatever happens.”

As the Inquisitr reported earlier this month, Yolanda Foster revealed her struggles with Lyme disease in a blog for Bravo.

“I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can’t process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.

“As tired and hopeless as I feel at times, I have an undeniable spirit that will continue to fight and travel the world until I have the proper answers. I keep reminding myself that I was given this task for a greater purpose, which keeps me driven and motivated to think outside the box to make a difference not only for myself but for all my fellow Lymies suffering some form of this debilitating disease that we know so little about. A lot of great medicines and ancient therapies are blocked by the FDA, so that’s why I choose to travel and recognize the value of diverse points of view in medicine. I am a firm believer that God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad of our greatest calling, so even though I have not found a cure, I have faith that I will.”
