Are Drake and Nicki Minaj secretly dating? If you go by the latest gossip, then of course! That’s especially since Jimmy Fallon and Gwyneth Paltrow performed the rappers’ duets in the style of Broadway performers. This highlighted the apparent romanticism between the two in their songs that feature one another, according to a report on KpopStarz. Now, online rumors are renewed with hope (and a little despair) that the two may actually be an item.

Could the rumors be true? Fans on Twitter have largely expressed excited interest in a relationship between the two rappers.

Drake has reportedly brushed off rumors of dating Nicki Minaj before, and the they even addressed the rumors in the song Only. Of course, Drake and Minaj have collaborated many times. He even appeared in the video for her fun hit Anaconda, as the recipient of a lap dance from Minaj herself. Drake isn’t shy about what he thinks about Nicki, even though he denies that the two are a couple.

“Me and Nicki have a really playful relationship. When I was on tour… I saw Nicki for the first time and, like, literally fell in love. She had this snap-back hat on that said ‘Minaj.’ She used to wear that every single day. She was like a theater student and she was so cold at rapping.”

Nicki actually was a theater student at one point, which is probably something that attracts Drake to her since he was once an actor before seriously entering the rap game. She was recently able to exercise her acting chops when she appeared on an episode of SNL, but way before that she was filmed in a heated scene during her time as a young high schooler. The clip of 17-year-old Nicki has gone viral.

Minaj recently ended a serious relationship, which TMZ publicized widely. The gossip publication claims that she dumped rapper Safaree because he was overly jealous of her success, and that he “wanted to be a superstar” himself. TMZ reported that the breakup was confirmed after Safaree was spotted with his Nicki Minaj tattoos covered over by other tattoos.

Since Nicki is single, she certainly has room in her life for another man, and unlike Safaree, Drake already has a fairly large amount of stardom and success. Nicki and Drake are more equals on the YMCM label. So, do they seem like a better love match?
