Kim Richards Reflects On ‘RHOBH,’ Insists She Did Not Relapse: ‘I Am So Strong In My Sobriety’

Kim Richards appeared to have relapsed on Tuesday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Although she’s been clean for years, Richards’ behavior during the cast’s poker night was a bit off, and caused fans, and her co-stars, to be concerned. Thankfully, her actions were the result of medication — not drugs or alcohol.

In her Bravo blog on January 21, Richards explained why she appeared to have relapsed.

“Before the poker party took place, I had been struggling with bronchitis and pneumonia for weeks. I went to the doctor several times because I was in so much pain, so I really was in no shape to go to the spa day or poker night. And I definitely didn’t want to go out when Monty came back to the house before poker night after being gone for a couple days. I just wanted to stay at home with him, but I had to go to Eileen’s with the girls.”

“I took the pain medication from Monty thinking it can get me through the pain I was experiencing. Little did I know, it just made me kind of out of it! But seriously, if I knew the medication was going to affect me in a negative way, I would have NEVER taken it. Careless decision on my part—lesson learned!”

When Kim Richards and her sister, Kyle, signed on to appear on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Richards was struggling with alcoholism — and it showed. During a finale episode of the show, Kyle had enough and called Kim out as cameras rolled. While it didn’t seem like the best way to go about things at the time, it ended up helping Richards in the end, and she entered treatment.

Now sober, Kim Richards is at odds with her sister once again, as the Inquisitr reported, and wonders why Kyle would say she was “embarrassed” by her behavior, instead of simply being concerned about a possible relapse.

“I was hurt that all Kyle could say was how embarrassed she was. As a sister, I would be worried, not embarrassed. I’m just grateful that Brandi was a good friend and supported me. What I don’t understand is why so many of the girls tried to make me stay when all I wanted to do was go home and rest after it got AWKWARD.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim Richards’ sister, Kyle, ended up in a physical altercation with Brandi Glanville after shutting with Kim in the bathroom. The fight, according to Glanville, was started by Kyle.
