Lisa Rinna Defends Asking Kim Richards If She Had Been Drinking: ‘It Felt Awkward’

Lisa Rinna may not have watched the previous seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, where Kim Richards was battling alcohol and prescription drug issues, so she doesn’t know how to handle this sensitive situation. In the past, Richards has been very sensitive and affected when people around her have questioned her sobriety. So when Lisa brought up the issue of whether or not Kim was sober on last night’s episode, things got awkward.

It is clear that Lisa Rinna didn’t mean any harm with her concerns, but Richards is very proud of her sobriety. On a previous trip to Paris, someone made a comment about Richards taking sleeping pills without realizing that this would mean a relapse for the mother. And since Kyle Richards is often concerned about her sister’s sobriety, this was probably the last thing Kim wanted to hear. But Rinna may not have known this information prior to seeing Kim on last night’s episode.

According to a new Bravo report, Lisa Rinna didn’t realize that Richards was sensitive about the subject, and Rinna admits that the car ride to Eileen Davidson’s home was just as awkward as it looked on television.

“I knew the night was going to be a wild one when I saw how Kim was behaving when she arrived at my house before heading to Malibu. She asked to use the bathroom and was acting as if she was high on something, which is why I asked her if she had been drinking or was on drugs when we got into the car,” Lisa Rinna explains, defending her actions in regards to asking about her being drunk.

“I mean, HELLO! Could that car ride with Kim be any more awkward? Let me tell you, it felt just as awkward as it looked to all of you. I really had no idea what was going on or what to do. Every interaction I have ever had with Kim up until that point was light, fun, and easy going. This was a completely different, very unpredictable, and aggressive Kim sitting next to me in the car, and to be honest, it made me feel extremely nervous and anxious,” Lisa Rinna adds, revealing that she really wasn’t sure what to do.

Of course, the question of Kim’s sobriety led to a fight between Brandi Glanville and Kyle, which had nothing to do with Lisa Rinna. And as Lisa has previously revealed, she joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with the intention of being herself completely. While Rinna may have affected Richards, Lisa stands by her claims that she was just being herself.

“I am going to be very authentic, be myself and stay grounded. Don’t react to anything, but be the better person and be supportive and empower the women, but that might fly out the window because we are women and we are determined. What I will tell you is that you will see that I am fiercely protective of my family!” Lisa Rinna has revealed, according to the Inquisitr.
