‘State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition’ On Xbox One Will Offer Bonus Content To Returning Players

The Xbox One release of the popular last-gen Xbox Live Arcade zombie game, State of Decay, has now officially been scheduled to launch on April 28. Along with announcing the release date for the Xbox One version of the hit survival title, Xbox Wire revealed several other additional features and content updates that State of Decay fans can look forward to enjoying within the upcoming improved edition of the game.

When State of Decay first released on the Xbox 360 in 2013, the zombie survival title instantly became a hit and has since set numerous Xbox Live Arcade records. The new Xbox One version of the game will bring several improvements to update the experience for Microsoft’s next-gen console.

The State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition on Xbox One will feature better visuals thanks to new character animations and an improved resolution support, as well as increased draw distances and lighting effects. The user interface has also been completely redesigned since its last appearance in the Xbox 360 version of State of Decay.

“For its Xbox One upgrade, State of Decay gets a fancy new coat of 1080p paint. New textures add an increased level of detail to the world, and the lighting changes make day more vibrant… and night more treacherous. The increased draw distance lets you see zombie hordes coming from way down the road, giving you more time to prepare (or panic).”

The upcoming remastered edition of State of Decay will also include both expansion packs that are currently available on the Xbox 360. Furthermore, many elements introduced in the Lifeline and Breakdown DLC add-ons will be available to use within the base State of Decay story campaign.

Additionally, State of Decay‘s Year-One Survival Edition will also introduce new weapons, vehicles, and more. Microsoft also revealed that those who already own the Xbox 360 edition of State of Decay will be able to purchase the upcoming Xbox One version at a discounted price. Players who have played the game before will also receive access to a new playable survivor.

The Year-One Survival Edition of State of Decay for the Xbox One is the next step in ongoing partnership between Undead Labs and Microsoft. It was one year ago that the developer announced that they have entered into a “multi-year, multi-title agreement” to continue creating games with Microsoft Studios.

The release date of the upcoming Xbox One edition of State of Decay wasn’t the only announcement pertaining to an improved re-release of a popular last-gen title. As reported by the Inquisitr, both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will release in a new bundle for the Xbox One and PS4 in March.
