Demetria McKinney’s Single Reaches iTunes Thanks To ‘RHOA’ Platform

Demetria McKinney may have joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta with the goal of expanding her music career, but she wasn’t getting the support from her new co-stars. Sure, they packed their bags and traveled to Puerto Rico on McKinney’s bill, but when it came time for the performance, NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks may not have been too impressed.

But their opinions may not affect Demetria McKinney one bit, because her single appears to be doing very well on iTunes this morning. After performing the song, it appears fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta absolutely love the song, and it is currently number four on the iTunes charts.

According to a new Instagram post, Demetria McKinney is thankful and thrilled at the news that her song is doing very well. And one can guess that it is because of The Real Housewives of Atlanta platform.

“OMG! Thank you everyone for making this happen! My single #100 is hitting iTunes like this because of YOU! I’m so grateful!” Demetria McKinney revealed on Instagram, but it doesn’t sound like her co-stars are thrilled in celebrating her success.

Of course, it is interesting to note that when NeNe Leakes is doing something new, she believes that her co-stars are hating on her because they don’t rush to congratulate her. But Leakes doesn’t appear to be celebrating McKinney’s achievements either. And this is affecting how Demetria is pursuing a friendship with Leakes.

“I came into this with a great deal of respect for everybody and I tried to start this journey, even kilter, on a even playing field and let people show me who they were. And what I’ve seen from Nene Leakes doesn’t necessarily make me want to go running and connect with her,” McKinney has revealed about her friendship with NeNe.

But sources close to the set believes that Demetria McKinney is trying too hard to become a part of the cast. Apparently, she is often inserting herself into stories or situations that have nothing to do with her.

“Demetria is trying to insert herself in other cast members’ storylines in a rather pathetic attempt to be relevant,” a source has revealed, adding, “She doesn’t even know Phaedra or Nene, so for her to have such strong feelings about them is absurd.”

But McKinney could have her reasons for doing to. According to the Inquisitr, Phaedra was very feisty with Demetria when they first met, questioning her whether she had taken drugs in real life because she played a drug addict on television. As Demetria pointed out, Parks should not be throwing stones when she is living in a glass house.
