Lea Michele Is Officially Ryan Murphy’s Newest ‘Scream Queen’

Lea Michele will be using her strong pipes for a different purpose in the very near future. Lea, one of the big stars from Fox’s Glee has officially signed on with a very different kind of show on the same network. Michele, along with a host of other big names, is officially a member of the cast of the horror-comedy anthology series known as Scream Queens.

Lea Michele joins a rather eclectic group that includes True Blood alum Joe Manganiello, Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee) and Ariana Grande (Sam & Cat, Victorious) on Scream Queens according to Billboard. The show is a creation of Ryan Murphy who is certainly familiar with Lea and Michele’s various talents. Instead of singing on this particular show she will be using her actual acting talents while avoiding a variety of different dangers.

Lea Michele and her castmates will make their debut in the 15-episode hour long Scream Queens in the fall of 2015. The first season is said to be set around a college campus that is being rocked by a series of murders. It appears that Fox has quite a bit of confidence in Scream Queens considering it has already said there will be other settings and plotlines in subsequent seasons.

If this whole arrangement sounds an awful lot like American Horror Story, that’s probably intentional. The question that will likely come from this show is whether or not Lea Michele can be believed as a character in this kind of genre. It stands to reason that Scream Queens is going to try and stand out and apart from American Horror Story as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello KeKe Palmer and Abigail Breslin are set to be Scream Queens series regulars. Ariana Grande will be holding down a guest star role. One has to wonder if Scream Queens will indeed feature some sort of musical aspect considering the well known backgrounds of both Michele and Grande. Lea and Ariana have both acted before but are more well known for their singing.

Scream Queens has already set a couple of other actors for the series, including an American Horror Story alum in Emma Roberts. Jamie Lee Curtis has also been selected to star in the series. According to insiders, the show will focus on three young women, Curtis’ character and a father figure. It’s not known exactly what Lea Michele’s role in Scream Queens will be.
