Bill Cosby Speaks Out: ‘I Am Far From Finished’

In a statement released Thursday, Bill Cosby says his career is far from over. The famed comedian remains positive amidst sexual assault allegations.

The comedian’s statement to fans via E! News comes just a day after Chloe Goins, one of the women accusing Cosby of sexual assault, met with LAPD detectives, seeking to pursue criminal charges against him for an incident she alleges happened in 2008 at the Playboy Mansion, and two days before his scheduled performances in Denver.

In Cosby’s statement, he thanks his fans for their loyalty and maintains the show will go on.

“Dear Fans: I have thousands of loyal, patient and courageous fans that are going to leave their homes to enjoy an evening of laughter and return home feeling wonderful. I’m ready! I thank you, the theatre staff, the event organizers and the Colorado Community for your continued support and coming to experience family, fun entertainment.”

Cosby finishes his statement by referencing his Fat Albert TV show and his 2013 Comedy Central performance.

“Hey, Hey, Hey — I’m Far From Finished.”

Bill Cosby seems to remain positive about his two upcoming performances at Buell Theatre in Denver on Saturday, despite yet another protest that’s planned to take place outside the venue on the night of his performances. Celebrity attorney Gloria Allred plans to attend the protest outside Buell Theatre, after hosting an informational session she is calling Teach In Speak Out. Allred, who represents seven of Cosby’s accusers, is holding the event to inform the public of what they can do to show support for the alleged victims.

The Denver show marks Cosby’s first appearance in the U.S. this year.

Over the past several months, over two dozen women have come forward to make drugging and rape allegations against Cosby, but most incidents allegedly happened decades ago, well beyond the statute of limitations. Chloe Goins’ claims, however, that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2008 may fall within the time period in which prosecutors can file criminal charges. According to Goins’ attorney, Spencer Kuvin, detectives within the LAPD’s Rape Special Section agreed to conduct an investigation, after speaking to Goins for over two hours on Wednesday. Last month, LAPD also agreed to conduct an investigation into Judy Huth’s claims that she was a minor when Cosby allegedly sexually assaulted her, but the investigation was soon dropped.

Bill Cosby has yet to address any of the sexual assault allegations made against him, although his attorneys maintain the comedian is innocent and the accusations are ludicrous.
