Madonna And Ariana Grande Among Performers To Headline Grammy Awards

The 57th annual Grammy Awards are just around the corner and, as preparations are being made, the initial performers list has been released, naming Madonna as one of the musical artists set to perform at the Grammy Awards ceremony. Additionally, Ariana Grande, AC/DC, Ed Sheeran, and Eric Church are also scheduled to perform, when the Grammy Awards are presented at the Staples Center Stage in Los Angeles on February 8. Also scheduled to appear at the Grammys are Maroon 5 and Mary J. Blige.

Although the news wasn’t made until Tuesday, Madonna was ahead of the official Grammy Awards announcements with captions posted to her pictures on Instagram. She revealed her scheduled Grammy performance to her fans and Instagram followers with a caption that read:

“Rebel Hearts see you Feb 8th @theGRAMMYs #GRAMMY’s #rebelheart”

Later, more pictures posted to Madonna’s account were captioned with further teasers.

“Blood Sweat and Tears @theGRAMMY’s! #livingforlove #rebelheart”

“#livingforlove @theGRAMMY’s! #rebelheart #revolutionoflove #artforfreedom”

Of the performers, several have also been nominated for awards of their own. There are 4 nominations for Eric Church, including a nomination for Best Country Album for The Outsiders. Ed Sheeran has also been nominated for 3 awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album for x and also for Album of the Year. This will be the first year for Ariana Grande, who has been nominated for two awards: Best Pop Vocal Album for My Everything and Best Pop/Duo Group Performance for “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.

Leaders of this year’s Grammys are Beyonce, Sam Smith, and Pharrell. Each of the 3 artists have been nominated for six awards and will compete with Beck for the Album of the Year award, according to CBS.

This will be the first year that AC/DC, Church, and Ariana have been asked to perform.

AC/DC will soon begin promoting their latest album, Rock Or Bust, when they start the first tour without Malcom Young. Fans of the band may remember that Young was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and subsequently hospitalized, reports Music Feeds.

Madonna, who has not been nominated for an award this year, is expected to perform the latest single from her Rebel Heart album, “Living For Love.”

The 57th annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS.

Madonna’s scheduled Grammy Awards appearance comes only a short time after she was criticized for her Rebel Heart promotions.
