Kyle Crosby Charged With Murder, His Wife And Mom Of New Baby Missing Since New Year’s Eve

Kyle Crosby, a 28-year-old New Jersey man, was charged Tuesday with the murder of his wife and mother of their three-month-old daughter — even though Erica Crippen, 26, remains missing since vanishing on New Year’s Eve.

A self-styled fitness guru, Crosby had earlier been charged with endangering the welfare of children, because since his wife had gone missing, he allegedly failed to care for the baby girl and Crippen’s 7-year-old daughter from an earlier relationship, who also lived with the couple.

The girl had not been seen in school for the entire first week of January, and on January 7, police went to the house once shared by Crosby and Crippen to check on the child. That was the same day that Crosby completed a missing persons report for his wife, pictured below.

While police have not said what they found there, they said that “the level of care he provided to the children in the absence of his wife” merited the child endangerment charge.

Crosby and Crippen were last seen on December 31 at PJ Whelihan’s Bar and Restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Crosby was spotted last Wednesday in Camden, New Jersey, in the company of a prostitute with whom he was taking drugs, according to a report on Philadelphia’s ABC Channel 6.

Acting on the child endangerment charge, police in Brooklawn, New Jersey, pulled Crosby over on Monday night, only to have the man, who reportedly owns a fitness company called “Train Insain or Remain Plain,” take off and lead officers on a foot chase.

Crosby was driving his missing wife’s Ford Taurus at the time police pulled him over and, after the pursuit, apprehended him. Investigators found items in the vehicle’s trunk that they believe tie Kyle Crosby to the murder of Erica Crippen.

Erica Crippen’s aunt, Barbara Kellem, told a local TV station that she went to her niece’s apartment shortly after Crippen disappeared. Though she said that her niece and Crosby normally kept the home in good order, this time she found broken glass, a broken window and the whole place in diasarray. A shower curtain and bedsheets were also missing from the home, she said.

According to reports, Crosby has a documented criminal history, including charges for robbery and drugs.

Kyle Crosby is currently held on $1 million bail after being charged with the murder of his wife. Police continue to search for the body of the missing young mom.
