‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ ‘Havok’ DLC Preview Introduces Four Hollywood Stars

The launch of the Havok DLC pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is just around the corner. At least, that’s the case for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. Developer Sledgehammer Games released a preview video Tuesday that gives us our first look at the new Exo Zombies mode in action, along with the four Hollywood stars that are starring in the co-op mode.

The Havok DLC pack launches first for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on January 27. The PS4, PS3, and PC release will follow approximately one month later.

Michael Condrey, Co-Founder and Studio Head, Sledgehammer Games, said the following.

“We’re looking forward to playing the new DLC content with fans. The response to Advanced Warfare has been amazing, and the creativity and gameplay variety of the content coming in Havoc is more exciting than ever.”

Glen Schofield, Co-Founder and Studio Head, Sledgehammer Games, stated the following.

“The entire team at Sledgehammer Games is really excited about the release of the Havoc and we are ready to kick-off a long DLC season filled with new maps, the new Exo Zombies mode and more.”

The Exo Zombies mode takes the creeping and crawling zombies we’ve come to expect from past Call of Duty games and gives them a boost, thanks to the game’s exo-skeletons. They’ve gain the ability to do boost jumps and other boost moves to quickly close the distance between themselves and the player. Even the zombies that are legless are now more dangerous, as a boost move will send them flying across the map floor.

There will be four main characters in the Exo Zombies mode to give a bit of a storyline and more Hollywood heft to Advanced Warfare, which already stars Kevin Spacey. John Malkovich plays the maintenance man, Oz. Rose McGowan is the I.T. specialist, Lilith. John Bernthal is the security guard, Decker. Finally, Bill Paxton stars as the executive, Mr. Caan.

You too can be John Malkovich.

“The actors provide their voice over and likeness in a dark and cinematic experience new to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” the Activision press release announces. “Players enter a world where a DNA bioweapon unexpectedly spawns a bloodthirsty, ravenous mutant horde infecting an entire secret Atlas research facility and sending personnel running for their lives. Following a failed evacuation, four survivors, un-trained and underprepared, must face the most vicious mutations ever unleashed. The Exo Zombies co-op mode ushers in a new breed of Zombies and a truly unique experience, coming first to the Havoc DLC Pack.”

Exo Zombies also comes with a triple barrel energy shotgun called the CEL-3 Cauterizer. The barrel of the gun rotates with every shot for a quick reload.

Four new multiplayer maps are also included with the Havok DLC. We previously covered all of the details for the four new multiplayer maps and the new weapons in this article.
