‘RHONY’ Star Kristen Taekman Is Giving Back: ‘I Am Very Proud To Be Here’
The Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman may still be somewhat new to the show, as she is currently filming her second season of the show. But her modeling platform was solid prior to her coming onto The Real Housewives of New York and she is now using this platform to give back. And this week, Taekman opened up about what she had been doing with her time.
On Instagram, Kristen Taekman revealed that she had traveled to Mexico with Smile Train, an organization that recognizes the importance and necessity of a smile. Given that Kristen has made a living smiling in front of the camera, this Real Housewives of New York star was the perfect fit as a celebrity spokesperson.
According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman has been sharing pictures from her trip to Mexico. She is there to offer support to children, who are affected with cleft lips and palates. These children undergo surgery to improve their individual looks.
“Smile Train is a wonderful organization that recnogizes the necessity of a smile,” Kristen Taekman has revealed, adding, “Your smile, my smile, most importantly, our children’s smile—it is the most powerful way to express emotion, and always there to make people feel happy, warm, and safe.”
On her trip, Taekman visited families in their homes, sharing stories with children who had undergone the surgery, or was about to.
“What a beautiful little boy! He had the most [gorgeous] smile even before his life changing cleft surgery. What I experienced today moved me beyond words. I am very proud to be here and to help in any way I can,” Kristen Taekman revealed after visiting a smaller boy, who just had surgery.
As for Taekman’s role on the show, she loves that she is no longer a rookie. Bravo has not released the full list of cast members this season, but Bethenny Frankel is returning to the show. And so far, Kristen has been keeping an open mind about the business mogul.
“I met [Bethenny] a few times. My husband knew her a little bit. I met her at some parties and whatnot so we would always sorta say hi to each other. I mean, so far so good. Can’t judge a book by it’s cover,” Kristen has revealed about her new co-star.
According to the Inquisitr, Bethenny decided to return to her roots and she announced her return last year. It will be interesting to see what she has been up to since she left Bravo.
