Jennifer Aniston Gets Comforted By Justin Theroux After Golden Globes Loss

Jennifer Aniston may not have taken home the Golden Globe for her performance in Cake, but the actress at least had a shoulder to cry on afterward. Not that she was doing much crying.

A very happy Aniston was seen hitting up the after-parties following the defeat in her first ever major award nomination. Aniston got a nod for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in the movie Cake, but lost out to Julianne Moore.

Jennifer was comforted by her longtime fiance Justin Theroux, who was seen by her side at the HBO and Warner Bros. afterparties.

Though Jennifer Aniston may not have won the award, she was a winner in other ways. Jennifer was named to several “best dressed” lists, and won some praise from the Daily Mail.

“Jennifer Aniston is not one to test the waters with a brave new look and for her sophisticated signature style, we salute her. The actress wore Saint Laurent at the Golden Globes last night in Los Angeles and looked sensational in this embellished gown with tuxedo style cumberbund and racy thigh split.

“It’s a maxi version of a SS15 look by the iconic French label and it suits Jennifer’s chic and minimal style. Worn with a pair of simple black high heel sandals and a pared back up do, she’s Jennifer through and through.”

The appearances with Justin Theroux also helped Aniston put an end to rumors that the couple was in trouble. For several months, reports have circulated that the pair is close to a split, but they looked very happy on Sunday.

And Jennifer Aniston still has a chance to earn honors for her part in Cake. She is seen as a strong contender for an Oscar nomination, as Hollywood Take noted.

“[Aniston] has been gradually building momentum for an Oscar nomination on Jan. 15. Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore have been considered virtual locks in the category all season. Felicity Jones, Amy Adams, Rosamund Pike and Jennifer Aniston have been jockeying for the last three positions.”

“Though all the performances were incredibly strong, we’re pulling for Aniston on Jan. 15, in large part because she put so much of herself into the role.”

“She basically has to decide whether she wants to live or die,” Aniston said of her character in Cake, a woman in chronic pain who begins an affair with a widower.

Jennifer Aniston won’t have much longer to wait to find out if she’s getting an Oscar nomination for Cake. The award nominations will be announced on Thursday.
