Rick Santorum Says He’s Ready To Bomb Iran

GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is currently soaring in the polls (third place) and he’s using that new found popularity to promote the bombing of Iran should they refuse inspectors access to their nuclear enrichment facilities.

Speaking on NBC’s Meet The Press Santorum said:

“I would be saying to the Iranis, you either open up those facilities, you begin to dismantle them and make them available to inspectors, or we will degrade those facilities through air strikes.”

He continued:

“Iran will not get a nuclear weapon under my watch.”

This isn’t the first time Santorum has promised action against Iran, during a Dec. 15 Republican presidential debate in Sioux City, Iowa, he noted:

“We need to make sure that they do not have a nuclear weapon.”

“We should be planning a strike against their facilities and say, if you do not open up those facilities and not close them down, we will close them down for you.”

The former U.S. senator’s comments comes at a time when President Obama is preparing to issue further central bank and international sanctions against the country. Under the U.S. sanctions any country doing business with Iran outside of humanitarian efforts could face U.S. imposed trading sanctions of its own.

Pressure to end and dismantle their nuclear power program has come from all corners of the earth as countries begin to fear that the weapons could be used to target neighboring countries.

With the Iowa Caucus just 2 days away Santorum has 15 perfect voter support, lead only by Ron Paul with 22 percent and Mitt Romney in the lead with 24 percent.

Do you think the United States and its allies should declare war on Iran if they do not stop their nuclear power effortS?
