Amanda Peet Takes On ‘Togetherness’ Topless Scene With A Joke

Amanda Peet is one of four stars of Togetherness, and the cast is currently out promoting the new comedy. The series will premiere on HBO on Sunday night. During one of their press appearances, a reporter from the Hollywood Reporter asked Peet about going topless for the comedy series. She did not ignore the question. In fact, the 42-year-old actress had a quick comeback for the reporter’s query.

Peet made a joke about the question, instead of being offended when the reporter asked about staying in a “comic place” when she is topless on set.

“I think it’s very important to stay in a comic place if you’re going to take your clothes off at 42 after you’ve breastfed two children. Otherwise, it’s tragic.”

Jay Duplass, one of the men behind the series, elaborated on Peet’s comments by sharing that someone was screaming, “Who wants to see some 42-year-old boobs?” during the production of the scene.

Togetherness will join HBO’s Sunday night alongside Girls. Mark Duplass, Melanie Lynskey, and Steve Zissis star alongside Peet in this comedy. The series focuses on these four people and their lives. E! Online shared a detailed description of Togetherness and the topless scene for those that have not heard about the show yet.

“The comedy, which follows married couple Brett (Mark Duplass) and Michelle (Melanie Lynskey) trying to keep their marriage alive as his best friend and her sister suddenly move in with them and their children, suffers from no shortage of both male and female nudity. Most of the nakedness comes from star Amanda Peet, who plays Tina, Michelle’s free-spirited sister. At one point, Tina flashes her way into getting what she wants from Brett’s best friend, Alex (Steve Zissis).”

Amanda gave birth to her third child, a boy named Henry, with husband, David Benioff, just last month, according to a previously report shared by the Inquisitr. The new baby has been a topic a conversation during Peet’s promotional tour in recent weeks.

Earlier this week, Amanda visited The Ellen Degeneres Show, and her breasts were a topic of conversation on the appearance, according to People Magazine. Peet revealed a method she has been using to help with the issues breastfeeding her new son has caused her.

During the appearance, Ellen shared a photo of Peet, and the actress described the photo for the audience.

“That’s cabbage. Apparently… after the babies are born [and] the milk comes in, some people get very painful engorgement and you can put cold cabbage leaves on your boobs and apparently it stops the milk. This is my husband being very amused by my porno boobs even though I’m in excruciating pain. The cabbage doesn’t really work, but it makes for a really great picture.”

Peet revealed that she has used the cabbage trick while breastfeeding her two first children as well. She called it an “old wives tale.”
