Nicole Kidman Says Daughters Will Not Follow In Her Career Footsteps

In a recent interview, Nicole Kidman revealed that her two daughters will not follow in her footsteps and will, in fact, avoid an acting career. The star of the new Paddington film says her children with husband Keith Urban, 4-year-old Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose, 6, will, in fact, probably run the other way.

According to Film News, when Kidman was asked if her girls would join the movie industry when they are older, she firmly said that she actually thought they would run the other way. Adding that her career was her desire and motivation, she said that she couldn’t see the same thing happening with Sunday or Faith. In fact, according to Kidman, they have told her they are not interested in an acting career.

According to Nicole, despite their young age, Sunday and Faith already have their own careers mapped out. Apparently at the moment, Sunday would like to be a vet and a party planner. Apparently after that, Sunday wants to be a stay-at-home mom with eight children. With so much time spent away from the family making movies, Kidman said she thought that was her daughters’ way of telling her to stay at home.

According to the Hamilton Spectator, Nicole Kidman did, actually almost become a stay-at-home mom. The 47-year-old also has two children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise – Isabella, who is 22, and 19-year-old Connor. When she was pregnant with Sunday, she seriously considered staying at home and stopping work. She just said to herself, “I’m done,” not wanting to again be in that “place of pain” where she missed so many things as the children grew.

Kidman even told Access Hollywood that she actively sought her children’s permission before starring in the new Paddington movie.

The Australian/American actress did add, however, that it was her own mother, Janelle, who encouraged her to carry on with her career, even when the children were small.

In an interview with People Magazine, Kidman said, “My mum, who gave up her job and raised us, said, ‘You should still do something creative. You should still keep a finger in the pot. I just feel that’s your destiny. You shouldn’t give that up completely.’ I was like, ‘You’re right, Mum.'”

In other related news, the Inquisitr reported on Kidman’s recent appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. While discussing the first time they met, Kidman and Fallon had rather different memories of their meeting, and Nicole Kidman managed to make Fallon blush recalling hilariously funny details of how she wanted to date Fallon and exactly why that was not to be.
